Russian export shipped by truck to European market is the most convenient option.

Trucking of russian export to Europe is of highly competitive logistic service among others. We are saying about commercial trucks with standard tautliners capable to carry 20-21 metric ton of cargo, with trailer capacity 82-93 cub.meters.

First of all trucking (sometime our european collegues are using word 'cartage') from Russia to Eurpean countries has unbeatable terms (tranzit time) of delivery. Secondly trucking is always based on the most convenient and popular term "Door-to-door". It is not only popular, but it is highly demanded. 

No one consignee based in EC wants to wait longer then cartage's (trucking) tems, and nobody among our customers wants to be stressed by cargo's transhipments somewhere else on it's route. Beacause each cargo's transhipment always means additional transport costs, additional time, additional delay caused of a sort of a force major or human factor. The last happens nowadays here and there quite freiquently. Sometimes sea containers are forgotten to be discharged at Hamburg port, for example and goes straight to Helsinki port, or circulate over the european ports, and it takes great and huge efforts to re-route cargo back at original port of discharge. Ocean carriers do not express 'sorry' or apologize or whatsoever, it always take huge efforts to struggle with such mistakes which sea carrier may cause in which case it happened quite often that European (Hamburg based) sea carrieer representative is based somewhere at the service center based in India!!! Where is India and where is Hamburg???

In that case direct trucking is much safer. We are constantly in direct contact with driver. We can trace truck's position with cargo each second by GPS tracker. Trucks equiped by security GPS complex can be observed on the subject of open doors, engine-on or off, etc. Should any kind of problem arise during the voyage a driver will call us over the phone or messenger for our immediate reaction.

Of course we can ship sea containers with Russian export from Russian city to the European city. There are plenty of possibilities to ship Russian export by sea by means of so called 'feeder vessels" (short sea), where pure tranzit time will be 2-3 days St.Petersburg port - Lubeck, Hamburg, and 3-4 days Rotterdam, Antverpen. Direct 'door-to-door' trucking will be almost same - 3-4 days. But trucking is always 'door-to-door' while sea carriage is only a sea route.

For a sea container transportation (which is also mentioned as 'mulit-modal') please add additionally:
(1) 'pre-carriage' costs (booking of truck with container platform to transport empy container from depot to loading site and back to the port -sea terminal, export stock),
(2) port expedition costs (formalization procedures which appointed 'port freight forwarder' (agent) must undertake with sea terminal, sea carrier, Russian customs.)
(3) same port expedition procedures at port of destination /discharge port
(4) 'on-carriage' costs at destination country (booking of truck to transport loaded container from sea terminal to the consignee's warehouse and positioning empty container back to the Empty Depot).

Therefore trucking Russia-Europe has really unbeatable competitive nature.
Always short terms and always 'door-to-door' basis. Road freight has always highly competitive nature in terms of Russia-Europe navigation. Only one exclusion: if we ship direct port-to-port. It means when we staff container really much close to the Russian port (shipper is based really very close to the port of load) and consignee in Europe is also based in close vicinity to the port of discharge. In that case it might be that freight costs can be a little bit lower then road freight. But there is too much things to be arranged and to be done by the appointed freight forwarder. Road freight is much easier to forward (no transhipments) and much safer it the said terms.

It is important to mention that we sell Russian raw, merchandise and equipment which we source mainly within the European territory of Russia. This is well developed and well industrial part of Russia with vast net of roads and modern highways, availability of big numbers of production factories and industrial plants. This has a vast consentration of russian population as well. It can be easily observed on the map shown below. Well, we mainly receive orders to place our trucks for staffing with Russian export within the limits of european part of Russia, before the ridge of the Ural mountains. After being staffed by Russian export shipper must give instructions for custom's clearance. Nowadays trucks staffed with Russian exports in most of cases are being cleared electronically and therefore do not need to proceed to the customs sites for inspection and being stamped. It is only needed for the very first initial staffing (initial consignment) always to present cargo at customs for a customs check-out and cargo examintaion. Later on, with further staffings trucks with Russian export are free to proceed straight to its European consignees without being physically presented at customs. All necessary permits and customs declarations are issued electronically. Once truck with Russian export reaches Russian border for exiting it Russian customs inspector based on the frontier can observe cargo's history and status electronically at the official customs database.

For those clients and purchasers who would like to receive complete "door-to-door" service we can arrange complete service on the consignee's end, i.e. customs clearance at destination. We have big experience in logistics operations and we have considerable number of logistic agents in more than 50 countries who can arrange "door" services upon request. It is a must that driver first present himselves at clearance site and only then proceed at consignee's warehouse to be discharged.
